Nursery education

For children between the ages of 1 and 5, nurseries are open for most of the day, all year round. All 6-year-olds have the right to nursery education for three hours a day the year before they start school.

6-year-olds who do not already attend nursery are also eligible. There are nurseries in Hultsfred,

Järnforsen, Målilla, Mörlunda, Silverdalen, Vena and Virserum.

Registered childminders

Registered childminders are employed by the council and look after children between the ages of 1 and 12 in their own home. 6-year-olds who are looked after by a childminder are also eligible for three hours a day of nursery education. Childcare is subject to a fee which is based on family income.
