Preschooling
Nursery education
For children between the ages of 1 and 5, nurseries are open for most of the day, all year round. All 6-year-olds have the right to nursery education for three hours a day the year before they start school.
6-year-olds who do not already attend nursery are also eligible. There are nurseries in Hultsfred,
Järnforsen, Målilla, Mörlunda, Silverdalen, Vena and Virserum.
Registered childminders
Registered childminders are employed by the council and look after children between the ages of 1 and 12 in their own home. 6-year-olds who are looked after by a childminder are also eligible for three hours a day of nursery education. Childcare is subject to a fee which is based on family income.
School childcare
After-school clubs
After-school clubs are for school children up to the age of 12. They go there after school and during
school holidays. They are often situated within the school or near by. You can find after-school clubs
in Hultsfred, Järnforsen, Målilla, Mörlunda, Silverdalen, Vena and Virserum.

You apply for childcare through your local education authority. You can find the form at www.hultsfred.
se/blanketter or get it directly from your local education authority.
