Leisure, sports and swimming

We aim to offer a varied selection of leisure activities. We support non-profit organisations, especially youth activities.
In Hultsfred the choice is yours. Fishing, bird-watching, canoeing, swimming and skiing - being in the countryside makes all this and more possible. There are activities for all seasons. Dackestupet in Virserum boasts a snow cannon and ski lifts and has something for the whole family. In Målilla there
is an artificially frozen bandy field and Virserum has an ice rink.

Stora Hammarsjön is a conservation area with long-distance footpaths and green open spaces. You can go camping, swimming, game fishing or have a barbeque. There are also jetties for the disabled, cabins for hire, a wood-fired sauna and a hot tub. You could easily spend a whole, relaxing day here.

Kalvkätte trädgård, an open-air recreation area, is situated on the outskirts of Hultsfred. Fancy a refreshing swim? There are ten lake swimming areas maintained by the council.

Hagadal leisure centre has a gym and offers swimming, squash, floorball and much more. There are also conference facilities and a café. The public swimming pool in Virserum is suitable for rheumatics and offers a range of water activities and other facilities including sunbeds.

Hultsfred has a skatepark that is perfect for skateboarding, snakeboarding, inlines and BMX. If you enjoy horse riding, you can have lessons at Hultsfredsbygdens Ridklubb, Målilla Rid- och körsällskap and Tälleryds Ryttarsällskap.

The health initiative “Våga Friskt” offers among other things spinning, water aerobics and pilates. The Tobo golf course has 18 holes and is situated approximately 14 km from Hultsfred. Boules can be played both indoors and outdoors. The bowling alley in Hultsfred has eight lanes and a café.

The home of the Swedish speedway racing champions of 2007, Dackarna, can be found in Målilla. The working dog club is based at Kalvkätte gård. Man’s best friend also needs training. Youth clubs can be found in most areas. Opening hours vary.
